What a wonderful place to visit and have a high tea at! The food quantity was abundant and quality was top notch. Every staff member was delightful and interestingly informative of the history of the mansion. I can't wait to return with additional friends and family. Lifetime good memories were made.

Good day! First - absolutely admire the luxe history of one of Detroitβs most iconic homes. The gorgeous ambience is what saved my special birthday from leaving us feeling quite disappointed. My boyfriend warned me that the service and food was a let down the last he visited. We have both been to many places - But I wanted to prove him wrong - he purchased the romance package. Very sweet touches! Overall the staff was quite kind. The bartender ignored us for quite some time and it was nearly empty. So sadly we left the infamous Ghost bar. We went down to enjoy our dinner. Wonderful seat by the front window. Our server was negligent from the start. Learned that other customers had the same experience whom has the same server. We became frustrated and made a joke with our tables near that we wanted their server whom was on it!!! Caesar salad was quite dry. I knew not to ask our server for more dressing - as his service for drinks and water was quite slow. This was evident with neighbors getting bread (we were never offered) and drinks all before us. I even had to take my boyfriendβs water as I was not refilled until we had our dinner a bit late. Beef Wellington needs to be pr

We had a delightful afternoon tea here recently. The mansion is an amazing place in its own right, with its tapestries, stained glass windows and carved wood architecture, and an ENORMOUS STAIRCASE leading upstairs (there's a small antique elevator too, where, if you take it, you'll never feel aloneπ. There are numerous private dining rooms in the 3-story house-turned-restaurant, where you can dine like royalty on the establishment's various items, none of which are not 'just plain old food' by any means. Ive experienced afternoon tea at many fine places, but truthfully, The Whitney has some of the best recipes that I've ever tasted. Thank You, Whitney, for a job well done!

We had our wedding reception here in June & could not recommend more. Samantha was truly a dream to work with and helped make sure all the special details were accommodated. We were engaged in New Orleans and bananas foster holds a special place in our heart. They made accommodations that we could have this dessert. The pastry chef was so kind and full of light! We are still getting compliments on the food. Samantha was always so responsive and never annoyed with my many questions I had. We love that weβll have a place to come back every year for our anniversary.

We had a wonderful evening at The Whitney last night! Dining in such a beautiful historic mansion makes the entire night feel special. The complimentary tour of the house was amazing and gave us the chance to explore the incredible architecture and rooms. We also wandered into the Carriage House afterward which was a little spooky but very cool and peaceful. Our waitress Madelyn took good care of us throughout the evening. One of my favorite touches was the Romance Rose that my date added to the reservation. It was a lovely surprise and really elevated the experience. The live pianist was phenomenal and even played my requested song Skyfall by Adele beautifully. We chose The Whitney specifically because of their Lent menu and it did not disappoint. We started with the Maryland Jumbo Crab Cakes and the Lobster Bisque from the regular menu. For our entrΓ©es we ordered the Seafood Alfredo and the Fish & Chips from the Lenten menu. Everything was delicious. We finished the night sharing a slice of the 7 Layer Red Velvet Cake which was the perfect ending. Between the atmosphere, music, food, and the chance to explore the mansion, it was a truly memorable evening.
